Football betting, explained by the rules
Nairobi Football explains how football betting markets settle, how odds carry a margin and what Kenyan gambling law says, so that an adult fan can read a bet slip and the rules behind it.
- 18+Adults only. Proof of age before registration, Act s.72(3)
- KES 20Minimum online bet, Act s.71(1)
- 2 daysTo credit an online money win to the account, Act s.70(1)
- 187Companies on the GRA list for 2025/26, read 2026-10-04
This site is for adults. Gambling is addictive. Betting on football costs money on average, because a margin is built into every price. It is entertainment with a cost, never income.

Questions before kick-off
Questions and answers
Does Nairobi Football give betting tips or predictions?
No. There are no predictions, tips, picks or forecasts here. The guides explain how a market settles, how a price is built and what the law says, and they stop there.
Do bookmakers pay to appear on this site?
No. The site carries no advertising, no affiliate links and no hyperlinks to operators. Bookmakers are mentioned only as entries on the regulator's public list, with licence numbers copied from that list.
Is football betting regulated in Kenya?
Yes. The Gambling Control Act, 2025 requires anyone who wants to operate online gambling to hold a licence from the Gambling Regulatory Authority (s.67(1)), and operating any form of gambling without a valid licence is an offence (s.98). Operators must require proof of age of majority before registering a player (s.72(3)).
How do I check whether a bookmaker holds a licence?
Look for the company in the bookmaker column of the GRA list of licensed gaming companies. Our reference page reproduces the bookmaker entries from the list for the 2025/26 trading period, and the guide on checking a licence walks through each step. Always confirm on the regulator's own page, because the list changes.
Where can I get help if betting is becoming a problem?
Call the GRA toll-free line on 0800-723-770 or read our responsible gambling page, which sets out the self-exclusion process under section 115 of the Act. Self-exclusion is free.
